Degrees (4 years)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The aim of the programme is to prepare a competent generalist nurse to function in primary, secondary and tertiary health care settings, providing safe and ethical care to individuals, families and groups across the life span stage of the health-illness continuum. LEARN MORE

Bachelor of Science in Social Work

The Social Work programme at Sigma Comprises theory and practice.We aim to produce reflective social work, practitioners who are ready to practice social care for children and families. Topics include sociology, psychology, child development and others. LEARN MORE

Bachelor of Science in Health Service Management

The management programme is designed to give students a firm foundation in areas relating to business administration, healthcare administration and management. Participants will acquire advanced leadership skills and develop a sense of continuous learning for self and their organization. LEARN MORE

Bachelor of Science in Counselling Psychology

The aim of the programme is to prepare a competent professional to function in the field of psychology/counseling, providing safe cognitive practices to individuals, families and groups across the life span  The student will be able to define and critique the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical and modern trends in psychology/counselling, as well as discuss how these are applied to solve individual and societal problems. INTERNATIONAL PRACTICAL NURSING

Programme length: 2 years. Requirements: High School leaving certificate or equivalent, 17 + years of age, in conjunction with Canadian Programmes

PRACTICAL NURSING

Programme length: 1 year. Requirements: High School leaving certificate or equivalent, 17 + years of age

CHILD CARE CERTIFICATE

To equip learners with the knowledge, skills and competence to provide quality childhood care in a variety of settings, wheather working in a day care nursery, crèche, pre-school/ after school facility, infant or primary school or with families as a professional child caretaker.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School leaving certificate or equivalent
  • Must be 17 years or older 

DURATION: 3 months (150 hours)

CARE OF THE ELDERLY CERTIFICATE

Practical patient care education.

This course provides training for individuals to demonstrate good work practices in the provision of individual holistic care for the elderly. To understand the concept of the ageing process, to be able to meet the full range of needs of older people on a variety of care setting and enhance the quality of life for the elderly.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School leaving certificate or equivalent
  • Must be 17 years or older

DURATION: 3 months (150 hours)

COMMENCEMENT DATE: September 2019
